What You Get With The Fire TV Stick

Simply put, if you get an Amazon Fire Stick, you will make your Smart TV even smarter, or a regular TV will become a Smart one. Once you plug this little device into your TV, you will be able to access thousands of TV channels, all streaming platforms you can think of, many applications, and much more. One of the main benefits of the Fire Stick is that since it is a portable device, once you have set up all your settings and accounts on it, you will be able just to plug it into another TV and start working.

The setup is even easier for Amazon Prime members because your account is already created and pre-added to your account. When you receive your Fire Stick for the first time in the box, you will also find a remote control that works with voice commands. Like this, you will be able to control all of your devices connected with Alexa through this remote while being in bed and watching some TV. Fire Stick has many great features that are regularly updated, and even though we will cover some of them in this article, check out this blog to find many other tips and tricks for your device. Have a look over it regularly to make sure you don’t miss a cool update that will give you access to even more entertainment.

How Does The Setup Work

Setup is relatively straightforward, and it won’t take you more than a couple of minutes. As we mentioned, if you are a Prime user, some of the initial setups will already be completed for you. This is similar to if you ever bought an Amazon Echo, which comes with your Prime account and Alexa setup. However, even if you are not a Prime user, the initial configuration of your device is very simple.

Of course, you need to start by plugin the device into your TV using the HDMI port. Don’t forget to connect the Fire Stick with the power adapter that comes with it as well. It is recommended to do those two steps before turning your TV on. Then turn the TV and make sure your input is set correctly to the HDMI port you used. You will see a couple of welcoming screens and very details setup instructions. The most important part is to connect the Fire Stick TV to your internet, so provide your WiFi password. And that’s it! You will, of course, need to download any additional application you would like to use and login into your accounts on the different streaming platforms. But as we said, once you have done that, even if you move the Fire Stick and connect it to another TV, it will remember everything.

What’s The Difference Between Fire Stick TV And Fire TV?

There is a difference between both services even though they sound pretty similar, and some people might get confused. Keep reading to find out the main differences between both:

  • Size — Fire TV is much bigger than the Fire Stick TV. As we said, the Fire Stick is the size of a USB, and it needs to be plugged behind your TV, which already shows it is very slim and petite. The Fire TV is a much bigger cube and must be put somewhere near your TV.
  • Price —  As you might expect, Fire Stick is the cheaper option. This is because it is a device that you can connect to only one TV at a given moment. But when it comes to the Fire TV, it doesn’t have this limit, which is why the price is higher. However, if you want to use this service on more than one screen simultaneously, then the Fire TV is the better choice instead of getting a couple of Fire TV Sticks.
  • Storage — Fire TV is more diverse regarding storage and connectivity options. The Fire Stick TV can only be used to watch TV and stream content. Also, the storage is quite limited, so you can’t install an unlimited number of apps on it. However, the Fire TV has a USB port and MicroSD slot, which make it more flexible in terms of storage, and you can use it to play even local content.
  • Speed — Similar to the previous point, the Fire TV can offer you more here. This is because the device is meant to be connected to more TVs at the same time, and it should guarantee good speed. For this reason, it comes with RAM of 2GB, whereas the Fire Stick TV RAM is only 1GB.
  • Functionalities and performance — If you want a high-quality picture, you should go with the Fire TV since it can support 4K streaming and the Fire Stick TV can offer you only 1080p. Other than that, their functionalities are pretty similar, and there are no major differences in what you can do with one and the other.
