Hosting an event can be an exciting occasion for any business. You could throw one to raise money for charity, to celebrate meeting targets, or to recognize a new venture. But there are plenty of safety conditions to meet – especially during times where the pandemic remains prevalent. Below, we explore the main considerations when hosting an event.

Table of Contents

  • Security
  • Searches
  • COVID Tests
  • Directions And Safety Precautions
  • No-Go Zones
  • Pre-Event Warnings

Security

One of your first thoughts should be security. You want to ensure that only guests are able to enter your event. To maintain the safety of everyone present, you should hire a security team to vet people as they arrive. Plus, you can use the venue’s CCTV to monitor anything suspicious occurring on the premises.

Searches

Searching guests on the door can seem invasive, but it’s the best way to make sure that no dangerous items are brought into the venue. A simple pat-down and metal detector can remove that threat and keep all your guests safe.

COVID Tests

The pandemic isn’t over and it’s best to proceed with caution. You can never fully eliminate the threat of COVID, but tests can help. Make sure all the guests are aware beforehand that they need to come with proof of a negative result – this can be via a PCR or a lateral flow test. This can at least remove any confirmed COVID cases from your event.

Directions And Safety Precautions

It’s easy to forget instructions and rules, even if you have the best intentions. To help your guests out in this regard you can order custom banners listing helpful directions and safety precautions during the event. This can help to ensure that everyone is aware of any dos and don’ts on the day.

No-Go Zones

There might be no-go zones at your event. This could be a stage where announcements are made, or maybe an area where food, drink, or prizes are stored. To ensure that no guests accidentally enter these areas, you can put up velvet ropes or fencing to make it clear that these are restricted access.

Pre-Event Warnings

In your invitations, you can specify any pre-event warnings to ensure that all guests are aware of what’s expected of them. This could be a simple message to reinforce the fact that you won’t tolerate verbal abuse towards staff, or it could be to make it clear what time the event ends.

Although dealing with these safety considerations can seem a daunting prospect at first, by sorting out the likes of security, COVID tests, banners, and no-go zones you should have the peace of mind that your event will be safe for all your guests.
