With Facebook pushing all of its chips in this space with the creation of Meta, you can’t turn on the TV without hearing the importance of this brave new world.
What many don’t realize is that AR and VR have been around for quite some time. However, Khuram Dhanani says only now will it become increasingly clearer how essential these two platforms are going to be for doing or creating any type of commerce in the future.

In today’s post-pandemic world, humans did not initially realize the fragility of always having to communicate in person with other humans. AR and VR are going to revolutionize the way that we communicate. Rather than having to be in a meeting in person all the time, you will be able to sit back and do the meeting in a VR setting. This is quite an important feature and pitch of Facebook’s new Meta platform.
Challenges of VR and AR Implementation
Of course, with any new technology, there are going to be challenges and issues adopting it for the current status quo. Anytime you try to implement new technology, there will be growing pains.
One of these challenges is understanding the behavior of the current market. Most individuals use their phones or smart tablets to interact with the internet. In today’s environment, it’s going to be essential to make sure that whatever VR/AR platform you are using easily streamlines with mobile and tablet device platforms seamlessly.
It’s also going to be crucial for companies to be able to use this technology without fundamentally restructuring the way their business works. The technology must be used to complement the business rather than disrupt energy and time. The hardware and software must be installed with an intelligent design, maximizing both physical spaces as well as interaction with current hardware and software systems.
Another challenge will be the assurance that the work environment offers plenty of human interaction outside of the AR/VR realms. A recent survey conducted stipulates that a good work environment is essential to leading a happy and productive life. Although it’s tempting to move everything into the VR/AR realm, remember that productive and happy employees are the greatest asset to your business. You must have some sort of human interaction to make sure people are at peace with their environment.
Either way, you look at it, VR and AR are here to stay and are in their early years of implementation. Khuram Dhanani views this as similar to the internet in the 1990s. Everyone knew that it would change the world; they just didn’t know precisely how.
